AUTONOMIC project: Autonomous Robots for a Green and Sustainable Nordic Region
Mitta is participating in the project Autonomous Robots for a Green and Sustainable Nordic Region (AUTONOMIC) together with Luleå University and several other partners. Mitta contributes expertise in soil and water sampling as well as sampling methodologies.
Project introduction
Current environmental sampling often depends on traditional manual methods, which limit access to remote areas due to challenging terrain, harsh weather, and logistical constraints.
The AUTONOMIC project seeks to create an AI-driven robotic system capable of autonomous, periodic monitoring of snow, water, and soil. This innovation aims to support sustainable development in northern regions while strengthening cross-border collaboration and technological progress between Sweden and Finland.
The initiative will explore and demonstrate advanced techniques for sampling and detecting compounds and pollutants linked to industrial activity and climate change, contributing to a deeper understanding of factors accelerating climate change in Arctic environments.
Mitta participates in the project with expert knowledge in:
- soil and water sampling
- samling methodologies
Project duration:
- 1.2.2025–31.12.2027
